Ye Olde Cheshire Cheese
145 Fleet Street, London, EC4A 2BU
Ye Olde Cheshire Cheese is a famed ancient London watering hole, tucked away in a little alleyway just off Fleet Street. The area was once famous for generations as the centre of the British Newspaper Industry, and all the main titles not only had their headquarters there, but the printing operations as well. Now in the name of progress, they have all moved out to pastures new, leaving mere memories behind. As a result the character of the area has changed somewhat - the scribes of Fleet Street were renowned for their ability to enjoy more than the odd drink or two, and still retain the faculty to write interesting prose. The place was founded in 1667, and obviously relies to a great extent - though certainly not exclusively - on tourists wanting to experience a slice of one of the oldest and quaintest inns in London.Ye Olde Cheshire Cheese is a famed ancient London watering hole, tucked away in a little alleyway just off Fleet Street.

However, it can also boast a solid (not just their figures!), British following for its consistent, traditional, pub grub fare served in a comfortable and cosy dining room.
