Located in the heart of London's Soho, on Greek Street, with Shaftesbury Avenue on the other side, The Yming is a small but wonderfully chic Chinese restaurant that distinguishes itself from the other Chinatown joints by its air of intimacy, great food that represents different regions of China and prompt and efficient service. Owned by chef Christine Yau, the restaurant exudes a relaxed ambience in cool shades of jade, with white linen covered tables affording the place an elegant and understated décor. The place provides the perfect canvas for some of the authentic Chinese dishes ranging from classic to traditional fare.

The à la carte menu consists of starters such as crispy seaweeds and aubergine delight with bacon and black bean sauce. Classic dishes of Tibetan garlic lamb, cooked with chilli and peanuts; ta t'sai mi, an 18th century recipe of lean beef with a hint of sweetness provide an exoticness and variety to the menu.
