Yoshino

3 Piccadilly Place, London, W1J 0DB

Yoshino is tucked away from the glare of Piccadilly Circus along the somewhat difficult to find Piccadilly Place. The effort in finding this Japanese restaurant is certainly worth it though, as the mainly Japanese clientele suggests; many consider it as probably the most authentic Japanese restaurant in London, and the major guides praise it highly. The sashimi is very good here, as is the miso soup but the restaurant is best known for serving oden, a rich stew of vegetables to which other ingredients of your choice can be added such as yam noodles or fish dumplings to make it as interesting as you wish. All in all a quiet, good value and businesslike restaurant, but much better value at lunchtime, when they serve specials, than in the evening, closed on Sundays.

REVIEWS OF Yoshino

L. Watson (13 September 2008)

I ate there last night and thought the food was exceptional and service, unobtrusive but very cheerful, attentive and knowledgeable. We had a table reserved downstairs beside the bar and found it to be the most enjoyable experience and would definitely recommend it to those who love fish as there's virtually no other food available. Book at least a day in advance to avoid missing out on an excellent dining experience. I can't wait to go back.

AC (25 April 2008)

I was disappointed with their service and the food was mediocre.
