I have lived locally for most of my life - now in Abergeirw, nearly twenty miles from Porthmadog. I have recently found Yr Hen Fecws and what a find. We have found the food, service and the restaurant absolutely lovely, so much so that we travel here quite frequently for breakfast waffles - stunning! Unfortunately missed our 2010 Christmas lunch booking due to snow - much sadness that day! Roll on 2011!

We've eaten there a lot as it is local to us. Bad points: The menu doesn't change very often, some of the seating is what looks like church pews, which although look nice are too shallow, hard and uncomfortable - ask for a table with a proper chairs. Prices tend to be on the high side - £23 for a steak? It can also be cold in the restaurant. Good points: Always nice food, but not sure if it justifies the price, the desserts are delicious and there’s a nice ambience as it is small and cosy - apart from when it’s cold.
