We've eaten there a lot as it is local to us. Bad points: The menu doesn't change very often, some of the seating is what looks like church pews, which although look nice are too shallow, hard and uncomfortable - ask for a table with a proper chairs. Prices tend to be on the high side - £23 for a steak? It can also be cold in the restaurant. Good points: Always nice food, but not sure if it justifies the price, the desserts are delicious and there’s a nice ambience as it is small and cosy - apart from when it’s cold.

We've been staying in Portmadoc every year for over ten years, and always have at least one meal there. When we first went they were just starting up. Other restaurants in the town have come and gone, but this remains the best, there was always excellent food, a friendly welcome and a lively atmosphere. You only need to see how many locals use it.
