Yuzu Restaurant

Have been to Yuzu many times - and we go for the food not the service! After the initial frustration of there being only two waiting staff on a full, but small, restaurant and each of them taking orders from 2 tables that were seated after we were, our order was taken and we started to relax. The food was brought reasonably quickly - we ordered quite a few dishes so they were just brought to the table as and when they were ready, which was perfect. As always, the food was excellent, especially the mackerel and black cod in miso from the grill, deep fried shrimps and the spinach salad. Highly recommend the food there, it's the best Japanese we've found.

I went to Yuzu for a Valentine day’s meal when it reopened after renovation and it was certainly worth the wait. I haven’t eaten sushi food before as I am vegetarian. I’ve always found Japanese restaurants lacking alternatives for vegetarians but this place was beautiful. I would call myself a bit of a novice when it comes to understanding the sushi world but the owner found time to explain things, which I appreciate. Overall the food was fantastic, wine was superb and the staff were extremely friendly.
