Zari is one of those dining places that is deservedly enjoying the results of more than a decade of consistent hard work. It first opened in 1990 as a takeaway and has since developed into one of West Sussex's largest contemporary Indian restaurants.

The recently renovated spaces of Zari are as colourful as the cuisine. When the weather permits, customers can enjoy a sunny lunch outside or spend an evening under the stars. The menu offers regional as well as old favourites from all over India. Zari works with local farmers and growers to source its ingredients. Start with galauti lamb kebab or stir fried crab with coconut. Specials include cardamom masala mutton with papaya, and jungle venison curry.

Their own pastry chef makes freshly all the desserts, ice creams and sorbets, and you could try a rare Peshwari naan pudding with caramelised oranges. The wine list has something for everyone at prices that do not ruin your evening.
