There are bars and restaurants almost everywhere, and Leicester has its own fair share of them, so when something new and different comes into the picture, everyone takes notice. A wonderful combination of stylish décor, delicious food and avant-garde music has made Zavu an inviting Braunstone Gate destination.

Cuts of raw stone, elegant long legged stools and high tables welcome customers in to the chic and airy bar. You could stop there and linger on wine, cocktails or champagne, or in fine weather, pay a visit to the cosy beer garden.

In the restaurant the mezze carte provides lighter bites, fresh pizza and shellfish, while another two-course menu offers seafood and meat dishes or pasta for a fixed price. Start with flaked tuna, cannelloni beans and red onion, or sautéed chicken liver. Mains encompass whole grilled sea bass served with lemon, garlic and extra virgin olive oil; spaghetti with fresh clams and white wine, and medallions of prime beef, mushrooms, vine tomatoes and a hint of cream.
