Zayna

Located on the site of a former curry house in Quebec Street, Zayna is one makeover marvel leaving diners fascinated within its caramel and brown interior. The décor is harmonious with white walls offset by plenty of intricate wood work and interesting lighting features.

North Indian cuisine is the main draw here, so freshly caught cod fillets deep fried in a gram flour batter or kutchoomer salad of diced apple, tomato, onion and cucumber finished with a sprinkling of chopped coriander and a squeeze of lemon could call out among starters. Specialities such as baati gosht, a traditional Punjabi market dish where lamb is cooked in a piping hot wok with tomato, ginger, onion, garam masala and a whole host of spices, is the kitchen's test of talent and it doesn't disappoint. Peshawari naan, tandoori paratha, pilaf rice and stuffed naan work well serving as side orders.
