Zinc Bar & Grill - Birmingham

Zinc Bar & Grill is a versatile venue, at a stunning waterside location within Birmingham City Centre that with its striking contemporary architecture, innovative interior design and focus on superb drinks, competitively priced food and great music has placed itself at the forefront of the Birmingham's bar and restaurant scene. Upstairs, Zinc features an exclusive marble-topped bar opposite a stunning glass-tiled wall. Full-length windows in the restaurant lead on to an open-air terrace, overlooking Gas Street Basin with its colourful canal boats. A 50ft long zinc bar and a specially commissioned spiral staircase dominate the ground floor.

Downstairs, the DJs set the mood with their music. No evening out at Zinc is really complete without a drink to help the conversation along. If you are a teetotaler, enjoy the smoothies and pressés. But if you prefer something stronger, the world is your oyster and the bar shares the same chilled atmosphere as the restaurant you would expect to find in a leading restaurant of the second capital city.

The wine list is no lightweight, and some very serious cocktails await your approval. Amongst them expect to find the Flirtini, a blend of raspberry stolichnaya, cointreau, pineapple juice and topped with champagne and fresh raspberries, created by the experts who work behind the bars and are well able to figure out what pleases their customers. For those who prefer a seasoned classic there are mojitos, martinis, gin-slings and a host of other much-loved creations.

The menus are creative, yet informal. The emphasis is on fresh, healthy food made from the finest ingredients and therefore the menus change on a regular basis. Many dishes are available in different portions to satisfy all appetites.

Main courses include braised lamb shank with puy lentils and brunoise of vegetables, as well as classic steaks with chips and Béarnaise sauce, or choose from signature dishes such as the crispy duck spring rolls. Make sure to leave space for dessert, with options like rhubarb cheesecake with rhubarb sorbet and compote. If you have a sweet tooth, do not miss the crème brûlée or red wine and vanilla poached pears.

The private dining room, complete with an imposing ribbon fireplace, is separated from the upstairs bar and restaurant by a sliding glass partition which is semi-opaque, ensuring privacy while providing a taste of the atmosphere in the bar and dining area.
