Zinc Bar & Grill - Manchester Description

Cool cocktails, contemporary food and slick service make this popular brasserie a welcome arrival to the city scene, offering Modern European cuisine produced by Head Chef Neil Clark and his brigade of chefs, in a striking setting; robust grills or light lunches - Zinc can cater for any occasion. Whether you are planning a celebratory dinner or want a light lunch for the girls while shopping.

Classic menu examples are terrine of chicken liver parfait, toasted brioche; chilled tomato gazpacho; herb roasted poussin, potato puree and young vegetables; and poached Duart salmon, steamed asparagus, dill new potatoes and tarragon beurre blanc.

Healthy options of smoked salmon and herbed crème fraiche, or seared haloumi salad, meaty grills and the renowned Zinc-burger are always available. Glen Fyne venison with spinach and bacon, grilled lemon chicken with a Thai noodle salad, it matters not whether you are in for a light bite, or are getting your feet under the table for the evening, the choices are there. Many dishes are available in different proportions to keep all appetites satisfied.

Zinc is open every morning from 10am so join them for coffee and brunch on the terrace and indulge in a spot of leisurely people watching. With a menu including favourites such as eggs Benedict, smoked salmon and cream cheese bagel and brioche French toast, as well as fresh pastries, there is something for everyone. On Sundays, enjoy reading the papers and a Bloody Mary as full consciousness returns, perhaps aided by their famous seafood mixed grill.

The bar at Zinc is a fantastic venue in its own right. No evening out is really complete without a drink to help the conversation along. Gone are the days, however, when nothing but alcohol would do, and there are plenty of choices amongst the smoothies and the pressés, if something a shade stronger is not an option.

But if it is, the world is your oyster and the bar shares the same chilled atmosphere as you would expect to find in a leading city restaurant. The wine list is no lightweight, and some very serious cocktails await your approval. Amongst them expect to find the Flirtini, a blend of raspberry stolichnaya, cointreau, pineapple juice and topped with champagne and fresh raspberries, created by the experts who work behind the bars, and are well able to figure out what pleases their customers.

By way of a little indulgence, enjoy yourself every month with their featured cocktail. For those who prefer a seasoned classic there are mojitos, martinis, gin-slings and a host of other much-loved creations. DJs play soulful funk and house from Thursday to Saturday to ensure the perfect atmosphere.

Your Reviews of Zinc Bar & Grill - Manchester

Warburts (31 October 2008)

Zinc is a fantastic place with a great team of staff and food that really does meet the new Manchester standard. The specials are creative and the a la carte menu has a great mix of meals. The only real downside is that the tables are set so close together that you feel you're eating at the same table as the group next to you, or that you are in the middle of the room. It can get a little warm in there as well, but well worth a visit.

I went to Zinc Bar and Grill several weeks ago. The food and drink were absolutely amazing. Try their beef burger, you would definitely love it.
