Zuccato - Bow Lane

The Etrusca Restaurant Group successfully launched their innovative Café Urbano approach to eating out, serving excellent food at great prices, with their first in Finchley Road. Following on in Zuccato's footsteps is Zuccato City, opened on 27th of June 2001, the second step in what promises to be a very successful brand rollout. As, for really up to date Italian food at affordable prices, you would be hard pressed to beat the 1950s Milan setting at Zuccato.

This year everyone is hoping that the al fresco dining opportunities of the open courtyard, a perfect traffic free haven for those long awaited Al Fresco moments, will come into their own this summer, but for the odd wet day, and any other time, the ground floor bar offers a good range of excellent cocktails.

The décor throughout, based on the original Zuccato restaurant, draws inspiration from Fellini's classic film, La Dolce Vita. Black and white dominates the stylish interior with lists of all things Italian - stylish people, things and places - written on the walls in black, with each letter 'C' in bronze.

They serve great pizzas like pizza con crosta farcita e vegetali grigliati, with a mozzarella cheese filled crust, topped with cherry tomatoes and marinated chargrilled vegetables or pizza con prosciutto crudo, rucola e parmigiano with tomato, mozzarella and a cold topping of parma ham, rocket salad and shaved parmesan, and excellent pasta also; but a full meal can also be taken.
